Criticized for ignoring Grammys Kanye West, Eminem and Justin Bieber


Steve Stoute, a renowned music executive and manager of rapper Nas, issued a critique of the Grammys, for having "lost touch with contemporary popular culture, and ignoring artists like Eminem, Kanye West and Justin Bieber.

The opinion piece was issued in a one-page paid advertisement in the Sunday edition of the New York Times.

So today unveiled the website of the magazine The Hollywood Reporter, which published the full story.

"I've come to the Conclusions of the Grammy Awards have lost touch with contemporary popular culture," he charged, adding that it is "a ceremony that has become a series of hypocrisies and contradictions."

According to Stoute, "we must assume the massive cultural impact of Eminem and Kanye West, and how his music is forming, influencing and defining the voice of a generation."

Regarding the interpreter Never say never, the contemporary music expert asked "how is it possible that Justin Bieber, an artist who defines what it means to be a modern artist, did not win Best New Artist?".
